We were expected to deliver a comprehensive market sizing for five different sectors. Instead of asking the remaining team to work unsustainable hours—which would risk errors—I met with the stakeholders to aggressively prioritize. I used a 'Value vs. Effort' matrix to show that 80% of the strategic value came from three of the five sectors. I proposed we deliver 'Deep Dives' on those three and 'High-Level Estimates' for the other two.
