ThriftBooks is the world's largest used book retailer! We believe in a workplace where respect for our employees matters, where promoting from within is how we grow, and where safety comes first in all our decisions and planning. At ThriftBooks, your work will help get inexpensive books into the hands of people who need them instead of going into landfill. We strive to create a friendly work environment with high standards of performance and rewards for excellence. We started out small and remember that encouraging people to do their best is how we expanded to our current scale.
If you want to learn about the intersection of technology, innovation, and good old-fashioned teamwork, we might be a good fit for you. Wherever you start in the company, our hope is that is a launching point to higher achievement. At ThriftBooks, your success is up to you.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Lead end-to-end technical project delivery, from scoping and requirements gathering through implementation, QA/UAT, deployment, and adoption.
Translate business problems into clear technical requirements, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
Collaborate with engineering teams at a technical level by understanding code level concepts or database structures as needed.
Build and maintain project roadmaps, timelines, and resource plans.
Identify dependencies, risks, and blockers early; proactively drive resolution.
Partner closely with Web Development, Analytics Engineering, and Design to align solutions with system architecture and technical constraints.
Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Lead intake for new technical and marketing projects.
Build and refine repeatable processes across Marketing and Web.
Evaluate existing tools and workflows and identify opportunities for optimization.
Implement and maintain documentation: workflows, specs, diagrams, SOPs.
Contribute to UX/UI mockups and prototypes.
Lead or support grooming, sprint planning, and backlog prioritization.
Conduct UAT and validate requirements before launch.
Support data investigations using SQL as needed.
Ensure teams adopt new tools, workflows, or systems and clearly communicate updates.
COMPETENCIES YOU WILL HAVE
Technical project management across marketing and web initiatives, from intake through delivery
Ownership of marketing workflow management, timelines, and project status communication
Cross-functional collaboration to develop project briefs, set expectations, and align priorities
Proactive execution leadership, including risk identification and blocker resolution
Resource planning and capacity management in partnership with Marketing and Technology leadership
