Job Description
Platform Integration Software Engineer
About the Opportunity
We’re hiring a Platform Integration Software Engineer to help take advanced detection systems from prototype to production-grade, mission-critical services. This is a fast-moving, high-impact engagement where you’ll work on two parallel, real-world engineering initiatives that support large-scale infrastructure operations.
If you enjoy event-driven systems, care deeply about reliability and observability, and want to see your work deployed and used quickly—this role was built for you.
Required Skills & Experience
1) Cloud Software Engineering – 8+ Years
Strong experience building cloud-native services (functions, containers)
Expertise in concurrency, state management, and performance tuning
Proven ability to design for failure and operational resilience
Comfortable owning services end-to-end, including documentation and support readiness
2) Event-Driven Architecture – 5+ Years
Hands-on experience with Event Hubs, Kafka, or Service Bus
Deep understanding of replay, checkpointing, backpressure, and delivery semantics
Experience managing schema evolution and versioned event payloads
Strong monitoring and DLQ management practices
3) CI/CD & Observability – 5+ Years
Building secure CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and quality gates
Instrumenting systems with logs, metrics, and distributed tracing
Defining and monitoring SLOs; creating actionable alerts and dashboards
Shipping changes safely and frequently in production environments
Project Overview
This program consists of two concurrent workstreams, each executed by a small, cross-functional team:
Retrofit systems for existing infrastructure
New-build systems for next-generation deployments
Each team includes:
2 Software Engineers
1 Product Manager
1 Data Scientist
(Occasionally) a Mechanical or Electrical SME
You will work closely with a paired Platform Integration Engineer, with minimal cross-team dependency—allowing for speed, ownership, and focus.
What You’ll Be Doing
This role is centered on productionization and operationalization—turning detection logic into reliable, scalable, and observable cloud services.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
Designing and implementing event-driven services to move detection data through production systems
Building durable producers and consumers with replay, checkpointing, backpressure, and ordering guarantees
Implementing reliability patterns: retries, idempotency, DLQs, and defensive error handling
Creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with security and quality gates
Instrumenting services with logging, metrics, tracing, SLOs, and alerts
Writing runbooks and operational documentation to support production readiness
Partnering with analytics and solutions engineers to harden low/no-code detectors into production services
Supporting production validation and incident triage when needed
Technology Environment
Languages: C# (preferred), C++ or Rust acceptable
Cloud & Messaging: Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Event Hubs / Kafka, Service Bus
DevOps: Azure DevOps CI/CD
Architecture: Event-driven, distributed systems
Focus Areas: Reliability, observability, scale, operational excellence
What Sets Top Candidates Apart
Top performers in this role:
Design clean, resilient, highly observable systems
Anticipate failure modes before they happen
Understand messaging semantics deeply—not just “how,” but “why”
Collaborate closely with analytics partners to move fast without breaking production
Average performers:
Can implement features but rely on others for reliability, observability, or release rigor
Why This Role Is Compelling
Work on cutting-edge detection and telemetry systems
High visibility, high trust, and real ownership
Modern cloud tooling with minimal bureaucracy
A team culture that values engineering craftsmanship
Opportunity to prove impact quickly—and extend beyond the initial engagement
