Job Description
About the Role
Takt Engineering is seeking a Software Developer to build quick-turnaround UI/UX prototypes and internal tools that support engineering and operations programs. This role is centered on translating workflow needs into functional interfaces fast, then iterating with users until the tool is good enough to unblock work. This is a strong fit for a developer who likes building practical UI/UX quickly.
Job Responsibilities
* Build functional UI/UX prototypes and internal tools that improve operational workflows and execution speed.
* Implement lightweight front ends (web UI, simple dashboards) with clean interaction patterns and fast iteration cycles.
* Build and maintain APIs and services that support prototype interfaces, including basic data models and validation.
* Package and deploy prototypes for internal use using lightweight infrastructure and automation (local, containerized, or cloud).
* Write maintainable, well-scoped code with pragmatic testing, code review participation, and clear documentation.
Required Qualifications
* 2+ years of professional software development experience.
* Proven ability to deliver functional UI/UX prototypes quickly with minimal oversight.
* Proficiency in at least one language used for rapid tool development (TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or similar).
* Experience building front ends and integrating them with back-end services.
* Must be a U.S. citizen and legally authorized to work as a 1099 contractor.

* Experience with modern front-end frameworks (React, Next.js, or similar) and rapid prototyping workflows.
