*The Role*
We’re looking for a UI/UX Designer who is early-to-mid in their career and excited to grow by working deeply on a real product with real users. This role is ideal for someone who wants meaningful ownership, hands-on experience across platforms, and the chance to develop strong product instincts over time.
You will be the *primary UX contributor* for Shaka Guide, working closely with other designers, engineering, marketing, and cross-functional teammates across multiple time zones.
*Work Schedule & Collaboration*
* Flexible work schedule
* Multiple weekly meetings, with 2 special meeting times once a week at *5:30am HST and *oncea week at *7:30pm HST*
* Collaboration with:
* An overseas designer and development team
* A Hawaiʻi-based marketing designer
* Other U.S. and international team members
*What You’ll Do*
* Design user-centered experiences across:
* iOS
* Android
* Website
* Web Apps
* Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs
* Improve existing features and contribute to new feature design from concept through launch
* Collaborate closely with dev team to ensure designs are implemented thoughtfully and accurately
* Work with marketing and product to align UX with brand and business goals
* Analyze product usage and behavior using analytics tools to inform design decisions
* Create, set up and monitor statistics using analytics tools
* Communicate and liaise between teams for feedback and requirements
* Participate in usability testing and incorporate user feedback
* Contribute to evolving UI standards and design consistency across platforms
* Advocate for users while balancing technical and business realities

* Well-versed in UI/UX in *iOS, Android, Website and Dashboard design*
* Strong foundation in both *UI design and UX thinking*
* *Strong intuition for user experience*, especially in real-world and mobile contexts
* *Strong analytical skills* and interest in using data to inform decisions
* Versatile and comfortable wearing multiple hats in a small company
* Curious, adaptable, and not afraid of challenges or learning new things
* Flexible schedule to accommodate collaboration across time zones
* Clear communicator, collaborative team player
* Able to contribute to and help guide design direction with support and feedback
