Job Description
*The role is to -- Re-engineer the portal for the “participants.” There are about 5 million participants and the system isn’t working well right now. It needs an entire re-write of the underlying system and a re-write of the UI / UX. And they may move to azure. *
*This is a portal that allows corporations to sell / deem / give stock to their employees. There is a corporate administrator portal, and an Employee / Participant Portal. The project is to rebuild the employee / participant portal. Because the Bank wants to *
*Massively increase the volume of business going thru it, and turn some of these employee/ participants into Wealth Management customers *
*Tech Stack –CHECKLIST. KEYWORDS UNDERLINEDServer Side Java on Unix, Networking – must understand the unix network – because they have issues with the network – they need to rebuilt the underlying network, and they need someone who can trace what is connected to what. Reverse engineer parts of the network. The Portal is built in React . (This is NOT A FULL STACK ROLE) but consultant needs to know JSP as well to re-write that into React, be able to reverse engineer the JSP. Some experience with Cloud – BUT NOT A CLOUD FIRST person) the cloud they are going to be moving to is Azure . PYTHON i s important because they don’t have a testing framework and he wants to build test automation in python . Looking for a solid engineer – someone who can figure things out. (example, please go build this in Rust – and the consultant doesn’t know rust but he / she goes and does it Old school style ) Devops is important Kafka and MQ SQL or MYSQL Database right now is SYBASE, but any RDBMS will work Financial industry strongly preferred.. Wealth Management is a strong plus. Great communications skills *
*Nice to have – Mobile experience for later. *
*Note they are looking for an engineer who has built platforms for other developers to use Built from scratch. Hiring managers are of the belief a really strong technologist / engineer can pick up any language. The important part is to have built platforms from scratch and knows how to solve problems.*
