Job Description
**
This is a *hybrid UI/UX Engineer role* (roughly *60% design / 40% coding*) focused on building *interactive, real-time interfaces* for autonomous surgical robotics.
They are *more flexible on pure coding depth* than initially stated. Candidates do *not* need to be heavy engineers as long as they:
* Can *prototype quickly*
* Have *strong UX instincts*
* Have *worked closely with engineers*
* Have shipped *real products* (research-only backgrounds won’t work)
*
* Strong *UX design instincts* with hands-on *user research & requirements gathering*
* Experience working on *shipped products* (internal tools OK; research/prototypes alone not enough)
* Ability to *design AND implement* UI (designer-who-codes or engineer-who-designs)
* Hands-on experience with *interactive systems* (games, simulations, robotics, 3D UIs)
* Comfort collaborating closely with engineering teams
* Willingness to work *onsite in SF* and travel up to *once per month*
* Comfortable viewing *real surgical procedures*
*Highly Relevant Backgrounds:*
* Indie or mobile game developers (end-to-end ownership is a huge plus)
* HMI / HRI (Human–Machine or Human–Robot Interface)
* Robotics or device-control interfaces
* Interactive 2D/3D applications (Unity, Unreal, Three.js, WebGL, etc.)
*Tech Stack (flexible):*
* TypeScript / JavaScript
* React (or similar modern frontend frameworks)
* Interactive / rendering tools: Three.js, Unity, Unreal, Babylon.js, WebGL, GSAP, etc.

Pay: $150,918.17 - $200,374.58 per year
