Founded in 2003, MEI Architects is a small San Francisco–based architecture, interior design, and planning firm dedicated to shaping meaningful spaces in the public realm. Our work reflects the unique context of each site and the communities we serve. We partner with clients across a wide range of sectors—including healthcare, civic, commercial, retail, residential, mixed-use, institutional, and transportation.
*Overview*
We are seeking a highly skilled part-time *Project Manager/Project Architect* to join our firm. This individual is a key personnel member of the design team and requires strong design and technical background and leadership skills. The Project Manager/Architect should be licensed, possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture or a related field of study, has *minimum 12 years* of professional experience, and experience with BIM (Revit) and Microsoft Office software. This is a *senior-level role *requiring strong design judgment, business acumen, and the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams while maintaining profitability and client satisfaction.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Lead conceptual design and establish overall project vision while ensuring creative design integrity
* Manage design team for all project phases, including proposal, presentations, concept, schematic design, design development and construction documents, and construction administration
* Coordinate and communicate with clients, design team, design review organizations and code jurisdiction agencies
* Develop project budgets, schedules and fee proposals and ensure timely billing submissions
* Work closely with the firm’s principals and marketing team on project acquisition and marketing presentations. The ideal candidate will be part of a team effort to represent our firm to clients and the public.
* Instill a positive working relationship with clients and other business partners to ensure repeat business
* Provide mentorship and guidance for the junior design staff and coordinate a team design effort. We are looking for a candidate who will help design culture flourish at MEI
*Qualifications*
* 12+ years of experience in the architectural and design field
* Proficiency in Revit, BIM, and Microsoft Office software
* Excellent collaboration, communication, and follow-through skills
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or related field
* Possess a California Architecture License
