Job Description
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented AWS Cloud Engineer to join our team in Virginia Beach, VA. This is a remote position.
The Cloud Engineer will be supporting an ambitious endeavor to reimagine how our customer, Naval Sea Systems, provides AWS cloud services to its customers. This includes deploying AWS services in a modern, fully automated manner.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot compute assets in AWS and Azure
Compose new Terraform code and/or edit existing code for the deployment of AWS resources
Take an automation-first approach to the administration and configuration management of resources deployed in AWS GovCloud
Administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux and/or Windows Server instances and their AMI lifecycle
Participate in Agile ceremonies as a member of a highly functioning Agile engineering team
Create, maintain, and update relevant system documentation as required
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related STEM field; OR High School Diploma and 8+ years of relevant cloud engineering experience
4+ years of experience in cloud engineering
Active entry-level cloud certification (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Microsoft AZ-900)
Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 Computing Environment (CE) certification within 6 months of hire
Experience administering RHEL and/or Windows Server operating systems
Proficiency in scripting with Python, Bash, or Perl
Familiarity with identity and access management solutions implementing SAML/SSO and CAC integration
Preferred Qualifications:
AWS or Microsoft Associate-level certification
1+ year of experience using Terraform
Experience using Git-based version control systems (e.g., GitHub)
Clearance Requirements:
Must have an active Secret security clearance.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
