Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
Experience with Apache Kafka.
Preferred qualifications:
Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
Experience with one or more of the following: Google Cloud Platform, Distributed Systems, Data Analytics.

The Managed Kafka team launched a GCP product for supporting Apache Kafka workloads on GCP. The team is addressing key feature gaps, supporting critical parts of the Kafka ecosystem, and integrating it with GCP.
In this role, you will have the knowledge of Open-Source Software (OSS) Kafka and its ecosystem, distributed systems programming at vast scale with high availability requirements, understanding internal and external customer needs, and troubleshooting and meeting with customers to help them improve their experience with our products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
Have an expertise in OSS Kafka to help lead the Managed Kafka as the team continues developing a Managed Kafka platform on GCP.
Design, build, expand, and manage the Managed Kafka backend stack, integrating it into GCP.
Develop primarily using Java and Go, including other languages.
