Job Description
As a junior Platform Engineer, you will be a part of the Cloud team in a growing FinTech Bank, that will be building, administering, supporting, and maintaining solutions that will support our automation and DevOps initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Assist in developing and maintaining infrastructure as code using Terraform and Atmos, following established patterns and best practices
Support CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins and GitHub Actions, helping teams deploy applications reliably and securely
Monitor and troubleshoot AWS infrastructure, responding to alerts and escalating issues appropriately
Write automation scripts in Python to streamline operational tasks and reduce manual toil
Participate in code reviews for infrastructure changes, learning from feedback and contributing to team standards
Document infrastructure components, runbooks, and operational procedures
Collaborate with development teams to understand their platform needs and help onboard new services
Assist with security and compliance initiatives, ensuring infrastructure meets regulatory requirements
Contribute to incident response and post-incident reviews, learning from production issues
Stay current with AWS services, DevOps tooling, and platform engineering practices through continuous learning
Other responsibilities as required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Foundational understanding of cloud computing concepts and AWS core services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda)
Basic proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language, preferably Python
Familiarity with version control using Git and collaborative development workflows
Understanding of Linux fundamentals including command line, file systems, and basic administration
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and ask questions when needed
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes
Education, Training, and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience through bootcamps, self-study, or vocational training.
0–2 years of relevant experience in software development, systems administration, IT operations, or a related technical field
Internships, co-op placements, or personal projects demonstrating hands-on technical work are valued
Experience contributing to open-source projects or maintaining a portfolio of technical work is a plus
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Cloud Practitioner or AWS Solutions Architect Associate
HashiCorp Terraform Associate
Any relevant Python or DevOps certifications
Salary: $65,000 - $68,000 K / year
