Overview:
Location: Albany, NY
Salary: $100,000 – $135,000
We are seeking a Project Manager specializing in Financial Operations to support our NYS Client by leading complex financial systems initiatives within a large public sector environment. This role is responsible for providing project oversight, managing multi-year initiatives, and supporting financial operations systems, integrations, and reporting. The ideal candidate will ensure successful delivery of high-value projects while aligning stakeholders, resources, and technology solutions.
Duties:
Lead and oversee complex financial operations projects from initiation through closeout.
Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
Coordinate cross-functional teams including business, financial, and technical stakeholders.
Provide governance, reporting, and executive-level status updates.
Manage system enhancements, integrations, and reporting improvements related to financial systems.
Ensure alignment with organizational financial policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
Oversee vendor coordination and performance management where applicable.
Monitor and manage projects with significant financial impact and long-term duration.
Facilitate issue resolution and decision-making to maintain project timelines and objectives
Mandatory Qualifications:
10+ years of experience as a Project Manager leading complex projects related to financial operations.
3+ years of experience working with financial management systems within large, complex organizations.
3+ years of experience managing stakeholder engagement across multiple business units.
Experience leading projects with a duration of 3+ years.
Experience managing projects with a minimum value of $5M+.
Knowledge of statewide or enterprise-level financial systems comparable in size and complexity to a state transportation agency.
Experience supporting financial system integrations, reporting development, and operational improvements.
Project management certification from a nationally recognized organization (e.g., PMP or equivalent).
Associate’s degree or combination of experience and education.
