*Job Summary*
The Junior Data Analyst & Purchasing Manager supports industrial distribution operations by combining data analysis with procurement responsibilities. This role is responsible for analyzing sales, inventory, and supplier data to optimize purchasing decisions, maintain appropriate stock levels, and improve overall supply chain efficiency. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing data-driven insights with vendor management.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*
*Data Analysis & Reporting*
· Analyze sales trends, inventory turnover, and demand forecasts
· Monitor KPIs such as fill rate, lead time, gross margin, and inventory accuracy
· Develop reports and dashboards to support purchasing and pricing decisions
· Identify slow-moving, obsolete, and high-performing SKUs
· Support forecasting and demand planning processes
· Maintain accurate product, vendor, and pricing data
*Purchasing & Vendor Management*
* Source and evaluate suppliers for industrial products and materials
* Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms
* Issue purchase orders and track shipments to ensure timely delivery
* Monitor inventory levels and replenish stock based on data-driven forecasts
* Maintain strong vendor relationships and resolve supply issues
* Ensure compliance with company policies and quality standards
*Cross-Functional Support*
* Collaborate with sales and warehouse teams to align purchasing with customer demand
* Support pricing strategy using cost and margin analysis
* Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
* Assist with inventory audits and reconciliation
*Qualifications:*
* Work experience or study in business, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, or related field
* 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or data analysis (industrial distribution preferred)
* Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis tools)
* Working knowledge of ERP systems and inventory management software
* Strong analytical and negotiation skills
* Excellent organizational and communication abilities
*Other Skills:*
* Strong communication skills required, both verbal and written
* Experience in industrial distribution, manufacturing, or wholesale
* Familiarity with demand forecasting and inventory optimization methods
* Basic knowledge of SQL, Power BI, or Tableau
* Understanding of supply chain KPIs and cost analysis
