Position Summary/Objective:
The Cloud Implementation Engineer will support the implementation and ongoing configuration of cloud-based communication systems across voice, chat, and digital channels. This role is responsible for configuring contact center workflows, integrating cloud and AI-powered services, and assisting with onboarding new clients onto the platform. The ideal candidate is technically capable, detail-oriented, and comfortable translating business requirements into structured cloud configurations and system workflows. This position blends cloud implementation, conversational system configuration, and client-facing onboarding support, with opportunities to grow into deeper automation and AI engineering responsibilities over time.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Implement conversational workflows across voice and chat channels using established internal patterns and templates.
• Assist in setting up and maintaining AI-powered knowledge systems, including document uploads, embeddings, and configuration of conversational responses.
• Configure secure API integrations to retrieve real-time data (inventory, pricing, promotions, CRM records, scheduling, etc.).
• Support AI-to-human handoff configuration, including skill-based routing and escalation triggers.
• Assist with onboarding new clients by gathering requirements, documenting call flows, configuring system settings, and validating implementations.
• Perform ongoing updates such as knowledge base uploads, configuration adjustments, and cloud environment updates.
• Monitor system performance and escalate technical issues as needed.
• Support reporting and operational metrics related to call and conversation outcomes.
• Maintain clear documentation of configurations, workflows, and onboarding procedures.
• Integrate AWS services such as Bedrock, Lex, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, and IAM into cloud-based workflows.
• Configure and maintain AWS Connect contact flows, including routing logic, queue configuration, escalation paths, and callback workflows.
• Collaborate with internal engineering leadership to support feature rollouts and platform enhancements.
Required Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to translate business requirements into structured technical configurations.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Comfortable interacting with client stakeholders during onboarding and implementation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience configuring or supporting AWS Connect contact flows.
• Working knowledge of AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, IAM, and related cloud services.
• Familiarity with Amazon Lex, Amazon Bedrock, or other conversational AI services.
• Experience implementing chatbot or conversational workflow solutions.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and system integrations.
Preferred / Plus Qualifications:
• AWS Certification (e.g., Solutions Architect, Developer, or AI/ML Specialty).
• Experience working with AI-powered conversational systems in a production environment.
• Basic familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) or knowledge-based AI systems.
• TypeScript or Python scripting experience.
• Experience integrating systems with CRM, POS, telephony, or digital commerce platforms.
• Familiarity with IVR logic, SIP routing, and speech-to-text/text-to-speech services.
• Experience deploying cloud resources using CloudFormation, CDK, or similar tools.
• Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM environment.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1–3 years of experience in cloud implementation, contact center technology, or software engineering.
• Exposure to conversational AI or cloud contact center platforms preferred.

Prolonged period of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
