Position Summary
The Business/Administrative Associate (Business Planning Analyst) supports clinical operations and UIH strategic initiatives through planning and analysis. Develops measurement, reporting tools and dashboards in support of strategic programs. Works closely with operational departments in prioritizing data and information requirements. This position provides analysis in the development and support of projects and data analysis. Determines how decision support systems will provide information required to make effective business decisions; translates requirements into applications that employ appropriate decision support and reporting tools. Recommends innovative approaches to analytical investigations.
Duties & Responsibilities
Supports strategic planning initiatives and participates in effective execution of planning relevant to UI Health initiatives
Expert user of UIH Decision Support Systems. Generates, analyzes, synthesis and normalizes large data sets from internal and external sources using qualitative, analytical and financial methodologies.
Develops market assessments using tools from Sg2 and IHA CompData, along with other sources such as Advisory Board and HFMA
Determines how decision support systems will provide information required to make effective business decisions, uses experience and technical knowledge to propose solutions to complex business problems.
Serves as an analytical resource to internal clients by providing the operational intelligence required to identify, examine, and improve organizational performance to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
Understand costing methodologies
Designs and develops standard and ad hoc reports to effectively translate complex data into decision support tools for management
Performs data quality and quality assurance to ensure data consistency with the various source systems
Provides guidance and education as necessary to department managers during the interpretation of their departments’ profitability reporting and other operational reports
Develop performance reporting and metrics (dashboards) for clinical programs and services
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a field related to the position.
Two (2) years of professional business, financial, and/or managerial work experience.
(NOTE: A Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year (12 months) of work experience.)
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Health Administration or Master's Degree in Business Administration
