Senior Fullstack Engineer
Top Funnel Talent
New York, NY 10001$175,000 - $220,000 a yearFull Time
Job Description
This is an On site 5 days a week near Penn Station opportunity.
One of our recruitment clients is rebuilding the operational backbone of healthcare. They are an AI-native platform automating one of the most painful and manual parts of the healthcare system: providercredentialing and licensing. What used to take 60+ days of manual, error-prone work is being
transformed into 24-hour automated workflows.
It's an early-stage, high-growth company, and this role will work directly with the Head of
Engineering (and frequently the CEO) to rethink and rebuild the product and technical
foundation from the ground up.
The Opportunity
This is not a typical CRUD or feature-factory role.
The product needs to be heavily rethought from near the ground up from backend architecture to frontend experience, design patterns, and how AI is embedded into everyday workflows.
You will help define and build the foundational technical blocks across ~75% of the stack, setting
the standards, patterns, and guardrails that future engineers (and even non-engineers) will
follow.
This is a rare chance to shape:
A TypeScript-first, full-stack platform
An AI-native development culture
A future where product, sales, operations, and customer success can safely interact with
and even modify the product using AI-assisted tooling.
What You’ll Do
Re-architect and rebuild core parts of the product from the ground up
Own features end-to-end (backend, frontend, and integration layers)
Establish technical direction, patterns, and best practices across the stack
Build primarily in TypeScript, with some Python (mainly for AI-related workflows)
Use AI tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude, Copilot) as a first-class part of your development
workflow
Work comfortably in ambiguity, often starting with partially defined or completely
undefined requirements
Act as a builder and product thinker, not just an executor of tickets
Collaborate closely in-person with a small, fast-moving team
Must-Have Qualifications (The Bar)
5+ years of professional software engineering experience
Strong ability to lead technical direction and make architectural decisions
Expert-level TypeScript experience (used as a proxy for modern full-stack engineering)
True full-stack capability (leaning frontend or backend is fine, silos are not)
AI-native developer mindset:
Comfortable delegating syntax and boilerplate to AI
Actively uses AI tools to increase personal velocity
Believes the future of software is deeply intertwined with AI-assisted
development
Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
Strong Pluses (Nice to Have)
Experience with Python in production environments
Exposure to AI systems, orchestration, or automation workflows
Background in healthcare or other regulated industries (fintech, cybersecurity, etc.)
Prior experience in early-stage startups (From seed to C)
The Ideal Mindset
We are looking for builders, not order-takers.
You will thrive here if you:
Can act as your own product manager when needed
Are comfortable with requirements that are 80% defined—or 0% defined
Enjoy figuring out what to build, not just how to build it
Believe speed, ownership, and pragmatism matter
Are excited about a future where non-engineers safely contribute to the product via
AI-assisted workflows
Pay: $175,000.00 - $220,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
