Overview
We are a New York–based Managed Services Provider. We’re hiring a Professional Services (Project) Engineer to support project work such as system upgrades, migrations, infrastructure improvements, security initiatives, and client onboarding.
Key Responsibilities
Execute IT projects including server upgrades, cloud and M365 migrations, network improvements, security initiatives, and client onboardings
Work closely with project managers to meet timelines and project requirements
Own assigned project tasks and raise risks or issues early
Create and maintain clear technical documentation
Communicate clearly with clients during project work and explain technical decisions in plain language
Track time accurately to projects and tasks
Complete project handoff and knowledge transfer to support teams
Required Experience & Skills
5+ year experience in MSP
Hands-on experience supporting and deploying production business environments
Strong working knowledge of:
Windows Server (builds, migrations, troubleshooting)
Active Directory (Group Policy, permissions, troubleshooting)
Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID)
Azure fundamentals (VMs, storage, networking basics, identity integration)
Solid networking foundation, including:
VLANs, subnets, routing basics
Firewall concepts and rule review
VPN technologies (site-to-site and client VPN)
DNS, DHCP, and network troubleshooting
Experience with at least some of the following in real environments:
Endpoint management (Intune, RMM platforms, or similar)
Security tooling (EDR, email security, vulnerability scanning, or similar)
Backup and disaster recovery platforms
Migration tooling and data transfer projects
Comfortable working on multiple projects at the same time with competing priorities
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Clear written and verbal communication skills, including client-facing communication
Highly organized, accountable, and detail-oriented
Able to work independently while still collaborating with project and support teams
Work Expectations & Requirements
In-office role (4 days in office, 1 remote)
Occasional nights, weekends, or off-hours required for project work
Occasional travel to client sites, including out-of-state, as needed
