We are *Psychiatry in Motion by Dr. Al-Katib* (@dralkatib). We are a somatic & metabolic psychiatry practice in the heart of Williamsburg (next to Peter Luger & Francie).
We are looking for a *Somatic Clinical Therapist (LCSW)* who is done with the "blank slate" model.
Most practices tell you to ignore the body. We start with it. We use sleep, diet, exercise, and *Somatic Intervention* to fix the root cause and hold patients accountable for their own benefit. We don't just manage symptoms; we change lifestyles.

* *You Are Never Alone:* Private practice is lonely. Here, you join "The Squad." You work daily alongside Dr. Al-Katib (MD), our two PAs Sandra & Rebecca, and *Tazzy* (the chief Dogtor). We eat lunch together, consult on cases, and have each other's backs.
* *Zero Admin Hell:* We have a dedicated Intake Coordinator and Office Manager. They handle the billing, the scheduling, and the insurance. *You just show up and be a therapist.*
* *Real Mentorship:* You get weekly clinical supervision with a Psychiatrist. This is rare. You will learn how to treat the _biology_ of mental health (Hardware) while you treat the trauma (Software).
* *The "Cool" Factor:* You aren't just prescribing talk therapy. You will help patients get *Letters of Medical Necessity* for gyms, trainers, wearables and more. We're a growing presence on social media and actively use it for educational and outreach purposes.
*THE REQUIREMENTS (Must Haves)*
* *You Are Somatically Trained:* You don't just "know about" the body. You have training in *Somatic Experiencing (SE)*, *Sensorimotor Psychotherapy*, *Polyvagal Theory*, or *EMDR*.
* *You Are Direct:* You are warm, but you don't just nod. You are comfortable challenging a high-performer to fix their sleep, or helping a burnt-out creative set boundaries.
* *You Are a "System" Navigator:* We treat everyone from CEOs to seniors on Medicare. You are proud of your Social Work roots and know how to help older adults navigate the NY medical system.
* *You Are Flexible:* You are willing to work *Hybrid* (Some days in our stunning office, some days remote).
*THE MONEY (Choose Your Adventure)*
We know one size does not fit all. We offer *two* compensation paths for this W2 role. You pick what fits your life:
*Option A: The "Safety" Path (High Stability)*
* *Base Salary:* *$90,000 – $105,000* (Guaranteed, based on experience).
* *Bonus:* Performance bonuses available for exceeding session targets.
*Option B: The "Hustle" Path (High Upside)*
* *Structure:* Lower Base Salary + High Commission Split.
* *Potential:* *$120,000+* (Uncapped). If you want to "eat what you kill" but keep the W2 benefits, this is for you.

*Job Overview* We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Psychotherapist (LCSW) with a specialized focus on Metabolic and Somatic therapies to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. This role involves providing comprehensive mental health services, integrating psychotherapeutic techniques with somatic and metabolic approaches to support patients' overall well-being. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in clinical counseling, behavioral health, and evidence-based therapies, with a commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care across diverse populations, including children, adults, and seniors.
*Duties*
* Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and intake interviews, utilizing medical terminology and HIPAA-compliant documentation practices.
* Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy sessions employing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
* Implement specialized interventions for clients with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, PTSD, addiction issues, Alzheimer's care, and other behavioral health conditions.
* Utilize EMR systems for accurate medical records management and data collection to support clinical research and case management activities.
* Collaborate with medical professionals on integrated treatment plans that may include psychopharmacology or crisis intervention strategies.
* Engage in community outreach and home-based care when appropriate to enhance patient support outside clinical settings.
* Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations including ICD-10/ICD coding standards and CPT coding for billing purposes.
* Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with advances in mental health counseling, special education practices, and working with individuals with disabilities or autism.
* Contribute to research initiatives related to behavioral health and metabolic therapies to improve treatment outcomes.
*Skills & Qualifications*
* Proven expertise in psychotherapy techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, crisis management, and motivational interviewing.
* *REQUIRED:* Training or Certification in Somatic Modalities (SE, Sensorimotor, EMDR, etc.).
* Experience working with children, adolescents, adults with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders, geriatrics, or individuals requiring Alzheimer's or special education care.
* Strong knowledge of medical documentation standards including HIPAA compliance, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical terminology.
* Ability to perform patient assessments, diagnostic evaluations, case management, and crisis intervention effectively.
* Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and data collection purposes.
* Excellent communication skills for social work practice within multidisciplinary teams and community settings.
* Experience in research activities related to behavioral health or metabolic therapies is a plus.
