Job Description
Pella Windows & Doors is hiring a detail-driven Part-Time Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations across our Rocky Mountain markets. This a shared services role serving employees in Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming, ensuring payroll accuracy and consistency across all locations. This role is remote.
We are looking for someone who views payroll as a core professional discipline and brings a high level of ownership, accountability, and consistency to the work. This role partners directly with both HR and Accounting to ensure payroll alignment, reporting accuracy, and proper financial processing.
This position reports to the HR Manager, with leadership based in our Denver office. The role is fully remote; however, we are only considering candidates who reside in Colorado, Utah, or Wyoming. We maintain office locations in Denver, Salt Lake City, and Casper.
Schedule
Part-Time/ Monday through Thursday
8:00 AM – 3:00 PM (MT)
Set, consistent schedule (not flexible)
Compensation
$26.00 – $29.00 per hour
Final rate determined based on experience and payroll system proficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Process bi-weekly payroll in ADP Workforce Now
Support payroll processing across multiple states and business locations
Own end-to-end commission payroll processing, including data validation, earnings calculations, discrepancy resolution, and timely payout execution
Process and validate payroll within a commission-based compensation environment
Audit payroll data including hours, earnings, adjustments, and commission payouts
Maintain payroll records within HRIS systems
Follow up with managers regarding missing or incomplete payroll inputs
Support new hire setup, status changes, and terminations
Generate payroll reports and reconciliations as needed
Assist with payroll corrections and off-cycle payments
Maintain strict confidentiality of compensation information
Respond to employee questions regarding pay, deductions, and payroll items
Qualifications
Current, hands-on ADP Workforce Now experience (required)
Minimum 1–2 years of payroll processing experience
Direct experience processing payroll in commission-based pay environments (required)
Experience working in remote environments
Systems & Technical Skills
Strong Excel skills for tracking, auditing, and reconciliation
Experience working within payroll and HR databases
Comfortability navigating and maintaining data in Access databases
Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and Teams skills
Professional Skills
Strong communication skills with proactive follow-up to managers
High level of customer service supporting employee payroll inquiries
Exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, organization, and discretion
Demonstrated curiosity with a willingness to learn and improve processes
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve payroll discrepancies
Strategic mindset with the ability to understand how payroll impacts broader business operations
Work Environment Requirement
