About Off the Muck Market

Off the Muck Market is a local food delivery service serving families across Upstate New York. We connect customers directly to local farms and food producers through a flexible subscription model that puts quality, transparency, and community first.

We are a small, mission driven team building a sustainable business that supports local agriculture and makes it easier for families to eat better food.

The Role

We are hiring a part time Growth and Retention Lead to help us build a stronger marketing engine. This role is ideal for someone who wants real ownership, measurable outcomes, and a chance to make an impact.

You will work directly with the CEO and take the lead on improving retention, increasing repeat ordering, and re engaging inactive subscribers through email and simple growth experiments.

This is not a “busy work” marketing role. You will have real responsibility and your work will directly impact the business.

Responsibilities

Email Marketing (Klaviyo)

* Improve and expand our automated email flows
* Build and run re engagement campaigns for inactive subscribers
* Write and schedule weekly promotional emails as needed
* Track performance and continuously improve results

Retention and Lifecycle

* Identify churn drivers and propose practical fixes
* Help improve customer communication around skipping, scheduling, and customization
* Support messaging that increases repeat orders and reduces cancellations

Content and Messaging

* Write clear, compelling copy that matches our brand voice
* Help create lightweight content for social media and promotions
* Identify customer stories and turn them into marketing assets

Growth Experiments

* Propose and run small marketing tests
* Analyze results and share insights
* Support simple acquisition and referral experiments over time

What We’re Looking For

Required

* Strong writing skills
* Comfortable working with data and performance metrics
* Organized, reliable, and able to work independently
* Ability to take ownership and follow through
* Interest in local food, farming, sustainability, or mission driven business

Nice to have

* Klaviyo experience
* Shopify experience
* E-commerce or subscription business experience
* Basic design skills (Canva is totally fine)
