Job Description

Loom is a compatibility-first dating app. Every member answers 100 questions across eight dimensions of compatibility — values, communication, lifestyle, finances, intimacy, family, growth, and dealbreakers — before seeing a single match. No profile is shown until it reaches a 70% compatibility threshold.

The product exists because the $6 billion dating app industry is optimized for engagement, not outcomes. 75% of users report burnout. 2% of swipes lead to an actual date. Loom replaces the swipe with substance: a paid-only product with no free tier, no ads, and no gamification. The questions are the product.

What exists today: LLC, domain, complete brand identity, investor pitch deck, comprehensive business plan, working interactive prototype, marketing campaign strategy, and a landing page. What doesn’t exist yet: the app. That’s where you come in.

*THE ROLE*

This is not a job. It’s a co-founding role. You would own the entire technical vision — architecture decisions, stack selection, database design, matching algorithm, infrastructure, deployment, and eventually technical hiring. You’d be building the product from an empty repository to a live app in the hands of real people in New York City.

The initial commitment is evenings and weekends alongside your current work. When we raise our seed round, both co-founders go full-time. Your equity stake reflects this: 40–50%, with a standard 4-year vesting schedule and 1-year cliff.

*WHAT YOU’D BUILD*

* A mobile application (iOS and Android) with the full user journey: onboarding, 2FA authentication, profile creation, photo upload, preference filters, the 100-question compatibility assessment, match browsing, profile detail views, like/pass mechanics, and real-time messaging.
* A compatibility matching algorithm that scores users across eight weighted dimensions and surfaces matches above a 70% threshold, ranked by overall compatibility.
* Backend infrastructure: user authentication, data storage, image hosting, push notifications, real-time chat, and payment processing via Stripe
* An admin dashboard for monitoring user metrics, match quality, question completion rates, and subscription health.
* The technical foundation for scaling from a single-city launch (NYC) to 20+ metros within 18 months of funding.
