As an Emerging Lead Analyst covering Small- and Mid-Cap Biotech, you will serve as an industry expert, publishing actionable insights and recommendations, and engaging with institutional clients and partners. Your work will help shape investment decisions and build a credible research franchise. Job responsibilities
Serve as an industry expert and thought leader on the SMid Biotech sector, leading coverage of stocks and providing education during company vettings
Engage with institutional investor clients and internal partners, including salespeople and traders, to share investment recommendations and insights
Build and sustain management and industry relationships, facilitating corporate access through conferences, events, and non-deal roadshows
Assist Capital Markets to support investor education and due diligence during equity offerings
Build and maintain Excel-based models to forecast company financials and project industry dynamics
Perform detailed valuation work to support stock recommendations
Write research notes on covered companies, sector reports, and prepare presentations
Collaborate effectively across Global Research and develop a team of supporting analysts
Embrace technology to drive innovation and efficiency
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
3-5+ years covering Biotechnology or closely related industries
Experience evaluating private companies and IPO processes
Established client and corporate relationships
Strong accounting, finance, quantitative, and business communication skills, including modeling, forecasting, and valuation experience
High level of organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and proven ability to manage a team efficiently
FINRA licenses SIE, Series 63, Series 86, Series 87 and/or CFA
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Willingness to be part of an established team and take advantage of mentorship opportunities with veteran senior analysts
Ability to develop a vision and actionable roadmap for ongoing innovation
Experience maximizing delivery of business goals and returns on investment
Familiarity with modern front-end technologies and cloud technologies
