The Role
The Senior Cost Analyst will be responsible for partnering with our manufacturing sites to collect and understand data to drive business decisions. Our organization has complexities to the manufacturing and production operations and it's imperative critical that you understand all components from start to finish. This position is hybrid and requires working 2x/week on site time either at our HQ office in the River North neighborhood of Chicago, or our Rolling Meadows office.
Responsibilities
Assist in the planning, gathering, and collection of data from our different CPG sites to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, labor, and overhead.
Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services to determine effects on cost.
Evaluate actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
Record cost information for use in controlling expenditures
Analyze audits of costs and prepare reports
Make estimates of new and proposed product costs
Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
Responsible for maintaining BOMs, variance analysis, and consolidated reporting
Oversee processing and payment of vendor invoices
Special projects and ad-hoc reporting as required
Assist in month end close of the General Ledger
Conduct physical inventories and monitor cycle count program
Reconcile finished goods, raw material and packaging inventory
Collaborate in cross-functional capacity to meet business needs
Conduct ad hoc analyses, special projects, and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business-related field, Master's Degree or CPA certification, preferred
3+ years experience in cost accounting within CPG or manufacturing
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office required
Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness
Adapts and thrives in a demanding, start-up, fast-paced environment
Superior communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, non-verbal, written), with the ability to build relationships at all levels, both internally and externally
