Junior DevOps / AWS Cloud Engineer
Location: Remote (US)
Salary: $75,000 – $90,000
Description:
We’re hiring a Junior DevOps / AWS Cloud Engineer to help support and grow the cloud infrastructure behind FantasyPros and BettingPros, two of the most trusted brands in fantasy sports and sports betting.
This is an ideal role for someone early in their DevOps or cloud career who wants hands-on experience with real production systems, mentorship from experienced engineers, and the opportunity to grow their skills in AWS, automation, and infrastructure at scale.
If you’re curious, motivated, and excited to learn by doing, we want to hear from you.
What you’ll do:
Support and maintain our multi-region AWS infrastructure
Assist with deploying applications across our brands (PHP, Java, Python)
Help manage cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
Monitor systems, respond to alerts, and troubleshoot issues
Improve CI/CD pipelines and automation to make deployments smoother
Follow security best practices and help manage access controls
Collaborate closely with developers and other engineers
Document infrastructure, processes, and runbooks as you learn
What we’re looking for:
1–2 years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or systems administration
Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, etc.)
Basic understanding of Linux/Unix systems (MacOS or Linux locally)
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
Some experience with scripting (Bash, Python, or similar)
Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to dig into issues
Ability to work independently and ask for help when needed
Clear communicator who works well with others
Experience in a few of these areas is a plus (not all required):
Containers (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes)
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
Monitoring/logging tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, ELK)
Networking basics (VPCs, load balancers, DNS)
Databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
Nice to have (not required):
Startup or high-traffic environment experience
Exposure to PHP, Java, or Python applications
Multi-region or multi-account AWS setups
Interest in security or compliance concepts
AWS certifications (or working toward one)
Interest in fantasy sports or sports betting
Curiosity about serverless architectures
Why this role:
Fully remote (US-based)
Real production experience—not busywork
Supportive team that expects learning, not perfection
Opportunity to grow into a mid-level DevOps or cloud role
Competitive salary range: $75k–$90k
Full-time role only. No contractors or agencies, please.
Don’t meet every requirement? That’s okay. If you’re excited about the role and eager to learn, we still encourage you to apply.
