Position Title: Construction Coordinator Intern
Position Location: Up to 100% travel across the U.S. unless assigned to an extended project. Must be located near a major US airport.

Hourly Rate / BONUS
$22.00 – first co-op cycle with DLB
$24.00 – second co-op cycle with DLB
$26.00 – third co-op cycle with DLB
$300 bonus to cover co-op fees
Equipment
DLB will provide the necessary tools and technology to support your role, including a laptop, monitor, iPhone, personal protective equipment (PPE), and other essential items for the duration of your co-op.
Job Summary
The Construction Coordinator Intern supports the contractor and/or owner’s representative throughout all phases of a construction project, helping to ensure that the project’s scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and compliance objectives are met. This role assists with monitoring project progress, maintaining documentation, and supporting coordination between architects, engineers, contractors, and clients.
The Construction Coordinator Intern contributes to the construction process from pre-construction through turnover and closeout, supporting structured reporting, risk management, and decision-making.
The Construction Coordinator Intern relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision and learns to navigate the business environment. Expected to learn company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues.
The Construction Coordinator Intern will communicate and operate in line with organizational and client goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.
Essential Functions
Project Support & Coordination
Assist project teams with contract administration and coordination meetings.
Support document tracking, including submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
Help monitor project schedules and budgets using company tools and templates.
Assist in preparing reports and presentations summarizing project progress and key metrics.
Construction Administration
Support field teams in verifying installations meet design and quality expectations.
Help document construction activities through photos, logs, and progress summaries.
Assist in collecting and organizing closeout documentation.
Learn about risk management, safety, and quality assurance practices on active job sites.
Reporting, Communications
Prepare visual materials and reports for internal and client-facing updates.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on project improvements.
Maintain professional communication and collaboration with team members and contractors.
Technology, Digital Tools & AI-Enabled Efficiency
Leverage AI-enabled and digital tools to enhance efficiency, reduce manual effort, and support consistent, high-quality work output.
Identify opportunities to improve processes and demonstrate a continuous learning mindset, seeking out new technologies, skills, and methods that elevate individual and team performance.

Position Requirements (BEGINNER level for all the following)
Knowledge of fundamental construction and project management principles, including scheduling, budgeting, coordination practices, and the materials, methods, and tools used in commercial or mission-critical facilities.
Ability to learn commissioning processes for electrical, mechanical, and controls systems in mission-critical environments.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to learn construction management software such as Procore.
Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management.
Ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, optimize operational processes, and contribute to company-wide innovation.
Ability to follow company and site safety requirements.
Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondence.
Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision.
Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with onsite and remote team members.
Ability to analyze complex information and develop plans to address identified issues.

On occasion the employee may move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Travel Requirements
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Up to 100% to priority project locations.
You will be issued a corporate American Express card to cover project-related travel expenses, including airfare, lodging, meals, and other approved costs.
Effective May 7, 2025, and in accordance with U.S. federal regulations for domestic air travel, a valid REAL ID (or an acceptable alternative, such as a passport) is required for travel associated with this position.
Travel is defined as physically leaving home on behalf of business activities including but not limited to client sites, meetings with other employees, meetings for business development purposes, running errands on behalf of the business, attending industry conferences, etc.
Travel may involve transportation by car or plane depending on the destination and nature of the business needs.
CERTIFICATIONS & SAFETY
Ability to achieve NFPA 70E and/or OSHA training as required; strict adherence to HSE/LOTO policies.
Education / Experience
In pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related discipline.
OR
Two years of hands‑on install/testing/validation/troubleshooting of mechanical, controls, and/or electrical infrastructure.
