Job Description

*General Description*

Manages the financial affairs of the organization and prepares financial analyses of operations, supporting schedules, for the guidance of Senior Management. The Finance Manager is responsible for the agency’s financial plans and policies, accounting practices, internal controls, the conduct of its relationships with funders, lending institutions and the financial community. Additionally, facility and IT oversight.

*Duties and Responsibilities*

* Responsible for monitoring and direct recording of company grants and funding. Prepares and submits reports on agency financial operations for internal and external use including government and nongovernment agencies and funders*.*
* Responsible for monitoring, recording, and reporting of all local, state and federal finances for the agency.
* Prepare Forecast Statements monthly and quarterly on all grants and contracts for agency.
* Participate in the planning and implementation of compensation structures and benefit renewal contracts.
* Process monthly bank reconciliations, transfers, deposits, etc. Assure accounting audit procedures are in place. Oversee cash receipts and cash disbursements.
* Authorizes expenditures in accordance with agency budget; estimates, analyzes and updates financial projections and cash flow accordingly. Assure all expenditures are approved by ED.
* Prepares reports which summarize and forecast agency business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses and earnings based on past, present and expected operations.
* Responsible for assuring protection for the assets of the business through internal control, internal auditing, and enduring proper insurance coverage.
* Prepares monthly and year-end financial statements and supporting schedules for the agency annual fiscal audit.
* Maintain Accounting and Fiscal Management Procedure Manual and update accordingly.
* Provide fiscal reports to the ED and board finance committee monthly; Support the activities related to the CCR&R Board of Directors/Advisory Committee for agency fiscal requirements.
* Lead and monitor CCR&R’s Fundraising budget along with the Fundraising Accounting Software.
* Organizes and maintains agency records, contracts, and correspondence.
* Responsible for planning, directing, and implementing fiscal operational plans that directly relates to achievement of business goals for the fiscal department.
* Works closely with senior management, communicating across all levels of the agency.
* Work closely with department managers providing support with strategies for growth.
* Maintains confidentiality and consistently personifies high ethical practices and integrity.
* Serve as internal consultant to the ED, Directors, and other key stakeholders on all financial matters, making recommendations and suggesting pro-active strategies to keep CCR&R on track;
* Provide oversight of all budgets, forecasts and internal financial plans and processes;
* Support accounting, general ledger and operations functions, ensuring that systems are in place to guarantee timeliness and accuracy;
* Drive best financial practices within CCR&R by publicizing standard operating procedures, keeping the senior leadership team, Board and staff up-to-date on CCR&R financial status and by generally serving as a point of reference for all growth plans and projects within CCR&R;
* Explore and suggest how CCR&R can invest its reserves and resources to generate passive income;
* Review short and long-term goals in light of existing and projected financial resources available;
* Create data-based long and short term goals, budgets and forecasts;
* Participate in all internal planning regarding CCR&R proposed program expansion, to ensure alignment of program, outreach and training plans with financial projections;
* Establish annual priorities and benchmarks and conduct regular reporting, measuring projections against actual performance;
* Generate weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as needed to monitor, evaluate and optimize cash-flow and liquidity;
* Build relationships with banks, donors, vendors, outside consultants and others as needed to keep close to CCR&R’s major expenditures and sources of revenue;
* Utilize technology to optimize all reporting and analytical functions;
* Ensure that CCR&R meets critical regulatory and legal compliance benchmarks;
* Keep up with new trends in the financial industry by attending conferences, participating in professional development and sharing this information with the senior leadership team; and
* Build a top-tier internal finance team by actively recruiting, training and developing talented accountants, analysts, consultants, auditors, tax planners and payroll staff, as needed.
* Leads budget process for all programs at CCR&R with management team
* Manages the internal staff to assure CCR&R meets facility requirements for safety and needed purchases with directors.
* Works collectively assuring IT supports and devices are in place for agency.
* Maintain Inventory Systems for all equipment, materials and purchases throughout agency.
* Performs other duties as assigned by ED.

*Performance Measures*

* Develop and manage agency’s overall financial plan for fiscal year.
* Meet all agency funders financial requirements.
* Assure agency growth quarterly with departments
* Accurately report monthly agency’s accounting status.
* Assist managers to ensure maximized coherence to annual budget.
* Maintain and update all agency fiscal policy and procedures.
* Assure agency rental space meets city, state, and federal safety requirements.
* Make recommendations for cost savings on all purchases with fair bid process.
* Manage support of agency relationships and confidentiality.
* Maintains strong professional relationships with all CCR&R departments.

*Education and Experience Requirements*

* Master Degree in Business or Accounting; CPA Preferred
* At least 8 years' senior financial leadership experience
* More than 15 years' experience total accounting/finance experience
* Experience at integrating IT/Systems to improve accounting productivity and accuracy
* Experience at working with external auditors, compliance and regulatory oversight
* Commitment to results; 'can-do" mindset; outstanding problem-solving ability
* Experience at change leadership and change management
* Strong motivational and staff leadership abilities
* Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills
* Sense of humor, integrity, personal sense of accountability
* Knowledge of Office Suite and Excel and familiarity with software like Salesforce and Quickbooks
* Excellent written, verbal and organization skills.
* Demonstrate ability to work cooperatively with individuals from various educational, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds.
* Must be able to travel locally and attend evening and weekend meetings.
* Must have a vehicle with insurance.
* Must be respectful to staff and supervisor
