Role Overview
The Venture Portfolio Analyst supports venture capital and growth teams by monitoring portfolio company performance, analyzing operational and financial metrics, and helping investors and founders make data-driven decisions post-investment.
This role works closely with investment professionals, portfolio company leadership, and investor relations teams to support value creation initiatives, reporting, and portfolio strategy across early-stage and growth investments.
Key Responsibilities
Track and analyze portfolio company KPIs, financial performance, and operating metrics
Maintain portfolio dashboards, valuation models, and performance summaries
Support quarterly and annual portfolio reviews for partners and investment committees
Assist with portfolio company benchmarking against peers and market standards
Collaborate with founders on data requests, metrics definition, and reporting cadence
Help identify risks, growth opportunities, and follow-on investment considerations
Support LP reporting, fund performance analysis, and portfolio-level insights
Assist with exit analysis, return modeling, and scenario planning
Coordinate with deal teams to align portfolio insights with investment strategy
Contribute to internal documentation, performance memos, and portfolio analytics tools
Ideal Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, analytics, engineering, or a related field
Strong interest in venture capital, portfolio management, and startup operations
Experience in finance, consulting, analytics, operations, venture internships, or related roles is helpful
Comfortable working with financial models, metrics dashboards, and performance data
Strong communication skills and ability to translate data into insights
Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and process-driven
Curious, proactive, and comfortable working with founders and investment teams
