Role Overview
Venture Fund Analysts support the investment and fund management operations of venture capital firms. The role blends deal analysis with fund-level responsibilities, including portfolio monitoring, performance reporting, and support for fundraising and limited partner (LP) communications.
Analysts collaborate closely with partners, investment professionals, finance teams, and portfolio company operators to help manage investments across the full fund lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Support evaluation of new venture investments through market research and company analysis
Assist with due diligence, including business model assessment, traction analysis, and competitive landscape reviews
Build and maintain financial models for portfolio companies and fund-level performance tracking
Monitor portfolio KPIs and help prepare quarterly and annual performance reports
Support investment committee materials and internal decision-making processes
Assist with fund operations, including capital deployment tracking and valuation updates
Help prepare fundraising materials, LP reports, and investor communications
Track venture market trends, exits, and benchmark performance across sectors
Ideal Candidate
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, engineering, or another analytical discipline
Strong interest in venture capital, fund economics, and early-stage investing
Prior experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, consulting, fund accounting, or startup finance is helpful
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including Excel-based financial modeling
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams
Curious, collaborative, and motivated to learn the venture fund lifecycle
