Company Overview

Position Summary
The Payroll Manager will oversee day-to-day payroll operations for a multi-location workforce that includes union and non-union employees. This role will lead payroll staff, ensure compliance with prevailing wage and certified payroll requirements, and maintain accurate and timely processing across all payroll cycles.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee weekly payroll processing for exempt, non-exempt, and union employees
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Manage certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting requirements
Supervise and mentor payroll team members
Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and support month-end close
Prepare and file quarterly and annual payroll tax returns
Maintain accurate employee records and system integrity
Partner with auditors and support compliance reviews
Monitor legislative changes impacting payroll operations
Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on payroll experience in a construction, infrastructure, or project-based environment
2+ years of certified payroll and prevailing wage experience strongly preferred
Experience processing union payroll and interpreting collective bargaining agreements
Strong understanding of payroll accounting and GL reconciliation
Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and lookups
Prior payroll team leadership experience required
