JOB PURPOSE:

The UX/UI Designer is a senior-level role responsible for the usability and adoption of AI and Data solutions. This role is for a creative and user‑centric person who is responsible for designing intuitive, engaging, and visually appealing digital experiences across web and mobile platforms. The UX/UI Designer is responsible for shaping end‑to‑end digital experiences through a combination of user-centered research, interaction design, and visual interface design. This role requires the ability to translate complex business requirements and user needs into intuitive, elegant, and scalable digital solutions for web, mobile, and enterprise applications.

This role works with stakeholders across the organization and member users to understand requirements and define the scope of use cases and collaborates with cross‑functional teams—including AI Solution and Data Products architects, advanced analytics, member experience, and marketing to translate use cases, requirements, and user insights into effective design solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

User Research and Discovery

Conduct qualitative and quantitative research, including interviews, contextual inquiries, diary studies, field observations, and surveys.
Develop and maintain user personas, behavioral archetypes, and segmentation models.
Map end-to-end user journeys, service blueprints, empathy maps, mental models, and experience flow diagrams.
Extract insights from analytics tools (e.g., Mixpanel, GA4, Hotjar, FullStory) to identify user behavior patterns, drop-off points, and optimization opportunities.
Facilitate workshops and co-creation sessions with stakeholders to align problem framing and design goals.
Perform competitor, heuristic, and comparative analysis to benchmark usability and identify design opportunities.

User Experience

Conduct user research through interviews, surveys, analytics, and usability testing.
Create personas, user journeys, flows, and information architecture.
Translate insights into wireframes, prototypes, and interaction models.
Validate design decisions with A/B tests, user feedback, and data‑driven iteration.
Conduct
Ensure accessibility (WCAG standards) and inclusive design.

Information Architecture and Interaction Design

Design interaction models that ensure smooth, predictable, and accessible user journeys across platforms.
Create low-fidelity sketches, wireframes, and grey-box flows to rapidly explore solutions.
Develop mid-to-high-fidelity interactive prototypes using Figma, Axure, or equivalent tools for concept validation and user testing.
Document functional behavior, including micro-interactions, gesture patterns, responsive breakpoints, and component state logic.

User Interface

Develop high‑fidelity visual designs aligned with brand guidelines.
Create component libraries, design systems, and reusable UI patterns.
Ensure consistent visual language across products.
Produce responsive designs for web and mobile platforms.
Familiarity with front-end development for deployment of user interface logic.
Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG).
Experience with design systems and component-based workflows.
Familiarity with user analytics tools (Hotjar, GA, Mixpanel, etc.).
Motion design or illustration skills are a plus.
Produce pixel-perfect, high-fidelity UI mockups that adhere to brand identity systems.
Establish and maintain scalable design systems, pattern libraries, and reusable component frameworks.
Apply typography, color theory, composition, spacing systems, grids, and visual hierarchy principles to create clean and intuitive interfaces.
Ensure designs meet WCAG 2.1+ accessibility standards (contrast, readability, keyboard navigation, ARIA labels).
Create iconography, visual assets, micro‑animations, and motion guidelines when needed.
Collaborate closely with frontend teams to support design handoff and maintain UI quality throughout development.

Usability Testing an Iteration

Plan and execute usability tests: moderated, unmoderated, remote, in person, A/B tests, and rapid validation loops.
Develop test scripts, scenarios, metrics definitions, and success criteria.
Analyze test data and identify friction points, cognitive load issues, and UX improvements.
Synthesize feedback and translate findings into actionable design updates.
Maintain a continuous improvement loop through ongoing usability evaluations.

Training / Support / Service

Train internal users on analytics platform functionality.
Proactively work with training department to review & provide input to member-facing training material.
Troubleshoot issues that arise after deployment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 8 years of experience in user research and user interface design.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar tools.
Strong understanding of UX principles, design systems, and interaction design.
Experience conducting user research and usability testing.
Ability to create wireframes, user flows, and prototypes (low and high fidelity).
Strong visual design skills with attention to typography, layout, and color theory.
Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
Experience training / presenting to end users & stakeholders.
Experience as an Agile Scrum team contributor / strong working knowledge of agile methodologies.
Experience working in complex ecosystems (enterprise software, AI/ML tools, healthcare, finance, e-commerce, etc.).
Knowledge of service design methods and holistic experience design.
Experience with prototyping tools such as Principle, ProtoPie, Framer, or After Effects for motion design.
Experience designing with data, dashboards, visualizations, or analytics-heavy interfaces.
Understanding of product strategy, KPI frameworks, and experiment-driven design.

Preferred Qualifications

Auto Insurance industry experience a plus.

Core Competencies

Familiarity with HTML/CSS fundamentals.
Experience designing for enterprise, SaaS, or mobile-first products.
Knowledge of accessibility guidelines and inclusive design principles.
Working knowledge of agile team tools (Jira, Confluence).
Experience using UI design tools, such as Figma, Axure, etc.
Experience conducting Customer Journey Mapping sessions.
Experience translating improvement opportunities into actionable items.
Seasoned use of MS tools (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated professionalism, and the ability to listen and collaborate with others.
Exceptionally strong communication skills (video conference engagement, verbal, written)
Ability to communicate complex data concepts effectively at all levels.
